• So, you go to school at notre dame?
  yup.
• What year are you?
  junior. (class of 2000!)
• What are you studying?
  I am majoring in computer science
• do you like it?
  love it.
• What OS do you use?
  Anything not made by micro$oft...
  
  In particular, Linux, and several other versions of unix, like Solaris, IRIX, and AIX. I also use MacOS from time to time.
• What languages do you know?
  Human languages:
  English (fluent), German (fluent), French (well), Dutch (well), Spanish (limited)
  Programing languages:
  C, C++, Fortran (yuck), BASIC (double yuck), Java (very limited), Scheme
  Scripting languages:
  sh, tcsh, Perl, hypertalk (remember this?), applescript (limited)

• What is NDLUG?
  NDLUG stands for Notre Dame Linux Users Group, a group of linux users on campus I helped start. Go to the webpage for more info.
  
• Did you really shave NDLUG into your head for one of the meetings?
  yup!
• What do you plan to do after you graduate?
  Grad school.
• Where?
  here at notre dame, if possible.
• Why?
  to avoid the real world as long as possible.
• What do you hate most in the world?
  hatred.
• really dislike?
  Applications which override my sound settings, greedy corporations, people who study computer science for the sole purpose of making money someday.
• Where do you live?
  Currently, I live in Keenan Hall, an excellent place, 'cept it's not air-conditioned.
  I also spend enough time in Fitzpatrick/Cushing to be able to say I live there...
  I call Colorado home.
• Did you really grow up in Germany?
  Yup, I was born in Kronberg, Germany and lived in Konigstein and Steinbach (both in Germany as well) for the first 15 years of my life.
• So, you're german?
  nope.
• What are you then?
  I have a dual citizenship: Belgian and American.
• How does that work?
  My Mom is American, my Dad is Belgian.
• You got any pictures?
  You can view some pictures of friends, family, and I.
• Are you certified in First Aid?
  Yup. I am a certified First Responder. I even know how (and am licensed) to use a defibrilator (but only the automatic variety)
• What sort of computer related jobs/duties have you had?
  I was a cluster consultant at the CCMB Computer Cluster for a year.
  I was the manager of the Davisson Computer Cluster for a semester.
• Do you currently have?
  I am a research assistant at the Laboratory for Scientific Computing and at the Systems Software Research lab. I also am czar of NDLUG and the webmaster of Keenan Hall.
• What is esgeroth?
  My computer, which I built mostly myself.
• Is it really painted camoflauge?
  yup.
• What sorta music do you listen to?
  I love Ska, Punk, and occasionaly rasta. And any combinations of these. Some of my favorite bands include:

  I also like Queen quite a lot.
  The only music I really dislike is rap, mainly because it really annoys me, since the people that live above me play it very loudly, especially on saturday and sunday mornings when i'm trying to sleep in. grrr...
• What is your favorite TV show?
  I love The Simpsons. Don't watch much in the way of anything else.. I also like the various Star Trek series, tho I don't watch them much anymore
• How about movies?
  Star Wars and Star Trek in their various variations... Rubin and Ed, Pi, Donald in Mathmagic Land.
• Do you do any sort of creative stuff?
  Yeah, I do some writing and some image editing in the gimp.
• What are your goals in life?
  Read them here
  
• What sorta sports do you like?
  I love to ski. I snowboarded once, was fun as well. I rock climb, mountain bike, kayaked for a while. Anything along those lines, I enjoy.
  As far as watching, I like football. I cheer for the Denver Broncos and the Fighting Irish.
  I also like watching soccer. Don't have any team I cheer for, tho.
  The basketball team I cheer for is the one my sister plays on (currently, the Crested Butte Titans).
  Baseball is incredibly boring.

  yes, i did lead a revolt once at my high school...
