Pete's Log: Pumpkin patch
Entry #1866, (Life in General)(posted when I was 42 years old.)
Today Jamie and I took JB to Kuipers Family Farm, about 45 minutes West of us. We were joined by Jamie's parents and her brother and his family. JB has now been to a pumpkin patch each fall of her life (i.e. two so far).
Last year, Christoph and his family were visiting from Germany, so we introduced them to the experience. This year was much different. Part of why we picked Kuipers is Jamie read they were taking state health guidance seriously. They did seem to be seriously limiting the number of people they allowed in, and it felt like very few people were not wearing masks, even though everything was outdoors.
There were all the usual activities you might expect, hay rides and hay mazes and petting zoos. It was nicely spread out, the staff was friendly, everything was clean, the food was good. Really enjoyed it. So did JB. She mixed things up by napping on the drive there, so she had the energy to go for a good while. Then she napped on the way back. She seemed to really enjoy herself. Thinking we'll probably go back next year.
In other news, my election anxiety is on the uptick. I've been using votefwd to send letters asking people to vote. I can't seem to stop impulse-donating to various swing state candidates. This feels like the most important election of my lifetime. Please vote.
