Pete's Log: Dad's Repair Shop vol. 2
Entry #1910, (Repairs)(posted when I was 42 years old.)
We have no idea where this book came from, but it's become one of JB's favorites over the past few days:
Old as it looks, it actually has a printing date of 1980 (although the copyright is 1952). The book itself is in decent shape, but the binding was completely gone, meaning it was more a pile of pages than an actual book. Which is ironic since the cover advertises "NEW Long-Life Binding." But maybe it's not the binding's fault. All the holes were fully intact, it almost seems like maybe somebody removed the binding. So during JB's nap today I grabbed the trusty sewing kit and sewed the book back together through the existing holes. And it seems remarkably sturdy. I added a cover of clear plastic tape just for extra reinforcement and to protect the thread from curious toddler fingers.
I'm suddenly antsy for more things to fix.
