Pete's Log: Robin and CSA

In our absence, a Robin decided the light fixture outside our back door was a good spot for a nest. Normally it's probably too high traffic.

We've decided to be accommodating for the time being and are using our basement door to access the yard.

We decided to subscribe to a CSA this year for the first time in a few years. Today we picked up our first share. Its contents were as follows:

  • Golden Globe Potatoes
  • extra Bloomsdale overwintered Spinach
  • Crunchy king or french breakfast Radishes
  • Negi japanese onions
  • Asparagus
  • English Cucumber

We had some of the radishes with dinner tonight and they were delicious. Very peppery. The farm is about 60 miles from our house. I'm thinking the spinach and onions will do well in some savory pancakes.
