Pete's Log: I don't know what this is about
Entry #2117, (Home Automation, Homeownership, Life in General, Random Crap)(posted when I was 43 years old.)
Last night I "coded" for "fun" for the first time in a while. I wrote a Python script that uses the Python Kubernetes Client to query the status of the nodes in my cluster. It was easy and satisfying. The purpose of this will eventually be to update my desk status thingy since the "X" and "Y" I described as "placeholders for other status items I can add once I decide what else to add" are still there unused. I thought it'd be fun to add a count of ready nodes so I no longer have to be embarrassed that I don't notice a node going down.
Anyway, today was planned to be mostly devoid of responsibilities, so I thought I would maybe continue work on that - get it pushing to MQTT, wrap it up in a pod, update the actual desk display. Instead, I accidentally started my day off with some dystopian web3/crypto reading and that lead me to prefer some offline activity instead. So I accomplished some more weeding and planting. I moved one of our bigger pots from the back - which I had noticed had a number of marigolds growing in it - onto our front porch and filled in a few more marigolds. I also planted some flowers around the base of our little free library. Definitely turning into a gardening sort of year so far.
Jamie and I hit up milk money for lunch, did some house organizing in the afternoon, and then watched some Obi-Wan Kenobi. Disney Star Trek seems pretty hit or miss these days. Mandalorian was fun. Boba Fett was a disappointment (and I'm a long time Boba Fett fan). Kenobi is... ok... so far. Jamie and I keep finding ourselves asking "why don't they just go around?" We'll see where it goes.
I achieved gold on the GeoGuessr daily challenge for the first time today.
