Pete's Log: Lego Reconstruction
Entry #2189, (Lego, Parenthood)(posted when I was 44 years old.)
JB and I love playing Lego together and the Camper Van 60057 is the first set we built together. So obviously I feel fond of it. JB, however, doesn't yet feel the same nostalgia I do and also goes through "deconstructive" phases. I tried for a long time to keep up with repairs to the RV, but eventually it succumbed to the forces of chaos.
Today, however, JB asked that we put it back together. Luckily we still have the instructions. However, because by now we have accumulated a decent amount of Lego, finding all the pieces was an exercise in patience for both of us. JB mostly played with the partially constructed vehicle as I hunted for pieces.
We were so absorbed in the process that we almost missed bedtime. There are still a dozen or so pieces missing, but past experience has shown JB will notice if I work on any Lego project without her, so we'll finish it tomorrow. It's looking pretty good though:
The minifigures might not be original to the set.
