Pete's Log: SharePoint Upgrades

Performed a major version upgrade for our on-prem SharePoint environment at work today. It went pretty well.
In my previous consulting life, SharePoint upgrades were a common undertaking. Now with just one SharePoint farm (two counting the test environment) under my responsibility, it’s a rarer endeavor. The last major upgrade was four-ish years ago.
My notes from the last upgrade proved more valuable than Microsoft’s documentation. I miss the days when they had good documentation.
