Pete's Log: Spooky Words

I still like the idea of using a different starting word for Wordle every day, so on Halloween I had the idea to use Ghost as my starting word. Seemed appropriate.

Apparently I was not alone, because WordleBot told me that Ghost was the 13th most popular starting word that day.

Top 16 starting guesses for the Wordle of October 31, 2023. They are Adieu, Stare, Slate, Audio, Raise, Arise, Crane, Irate, Train, House, Great, Arose, Ghost, Heart, Aisle and Steam

It doesn't seem like that great a starting word, so out of curiosity, I've continued using it since. And while it ranked as the 40th most popular starting word on November 1, since then it has remained in the 54-68 range.

Over the past 20 days that I've been collecting this data, the top 15 starting words have been fairly stable, so it does feel noteworthy that Ghost made it to 13 on Halloween.

So what starting word should I use tomorrow?
