Pete's Log: Seeing the Light
Entry #2622, (Life in General)(posted when I was 46 years old.)
Having now spent more than half a decade in my 40s, I find myself dealing more and more with the inevitable effects of Presbyopia, a.k.a. old eyes. As "luck" would have it, it is partially canceled out by my Myopia, meaning I can bring things into focus simply by looking over or removing my glasses. This has been going on for long enough at this point, that if I am having a hard time seeing something, I reflexively remove my glasses. Unfortunately, Presbyopia actually isn't always the problem and so removing my glasses isn't always the solution. Lately I've realized that often better lighting is all I need.
So today I added some better lighting to the desk.
It's quite pleasing to me. Odds are good, however, that I'll still need to remove my glasses for some tasks.
