Pete's Log: In Praise of WLTL
Entry #2636, (Music)(posted when I was 46 years old.)
WLTL (88.1 FM) is a student-run radio station operated at Lyons Township High School. I have grown quite fond of it lately. The music played is eclectic and fun and I have discovered new music through it. I particularly enjoy the students bantering between songs. And occasionally shows are hosted by alumni, which is fun. It just feels like a nice piece of the local community. Its only drawback is the transmission power, the signal starts fading when you get about 5 miles away. But even that adds to the charm, really.
This weekend is their annual Rock-A-Thon fundraiser, so I gave them $88.10 (get it?) and Jamie ordered a T-Shirt.
As WLTL puts it: "Everything Else is Just Radio."
