Pete's Log: Lego 75301 - Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Fighter

JB kept asking where the rest of the spaceship was, so when I spotted set 75301 - Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Fighter at Micro Center (of all places) I had to buy it.

It was a fun build with JB's help and I really like the final product. This X-Wing makes me want to run around the room with it and make zooming sounds. The mechanism for opening/closing the wings is particularly satisfying.

It comes with the obvious Luke and R2-D2 minifigures, and also with Princess Leia and General Dodonna. JB was excited about Leia.

The wing tip doesn't quite match the wing tip from the Dagobah set, but it's close enough.

The only (minor) complaints I have is that the front landing skid falls off too easily and that Luke can't fit in the cockpit sitting upright, he has to lean back.

Overall I'm quite pleased with it, though.
